Dreamburger Coma

I feel like sharing my dreams.

After talking with some people and looking around the internet, it seems that there are a lot of very common dreams that people have. On the other hand, there are some really crazy dreams that are unique to the individual. If my dream is really cool, I usually remember a good bit of it and can recognize things that I’ve recently seen or experienced that probably influenced it in some way even if its in a way that I don’t understand.

I think there was an article on slashdot that said some dreams my be a kind of ‘virtual reality’ for your brain to test your reactions to extreme situations. I’ve notice that I tend to fight, rebel, or attack an opposing force like zombies, laser robots, or laser robot zombies etc.. Some people say they run.

Whatever the case may be or however crazy my dreams may sound, I never think too deeply about them. You, however, can think deeply about my dreams and interpret them in any way you’d like if you want.

Last Night, Sushi Pig…

Text

Man, this dream is pretty crazy. I’m not really sure how to begin because the word ‘sushi-pig’ keeps swirling around in my head. I guess it will make sense.

Anyway, this is what happened. It all starts with me asleep in the corner of a room on a spaceship. And its not a very big spaceship. Something like the size of Serenity but more of a Space: Above and Beyond dropship.

In the room next to mine, there is a medical officer, which happens to be Turanga Leela, sitting down at a control console playing some kind of holographic puzzle game. The object of this game is to get a marble to fall to the bottom of a cylinder that has a series of puzzle chambers inside of it.

The last puzzle chamber involved the marble falling into a pool of acid. I’m not sure if the acid pool gets really big or if Leela gets really small, but she goes after the marble and dives in head first where she dissolves peacefully into nothingness.

Suddenly, emergency alarms go off and wake me up. I look around to find no one else on the ship. I check the logs to see a video of Leela jumping into the acid. At this point I’m not panicking but more so inconvenienced. After all, I’m on a spaceship. This is the future, and we have this really cool miracle drug.

Apparently, this wonder drug, which comes in a little eye drop bottle, is all you need to bring people back to life. One drop is all that is needed, and it even works when someone gets blown to bits. All you do is just put a drop on a remaining finger or whatever and the person will grow back like the girl in the Fifth Element. But, I’ve run into a slight dilemma…

Since Leela was dissolved completely by the acid, I don’t have any usable physical remains to bring her back to life. At this point, I’m unsure of what to do next since the instructions on the bottle don’t say what to do in this situation, and I’m not a doctor. The next logical thing to do would be to consult the medical officer….Yeah, see how that kinda sucks?

Let me take a moment to mention that the rest of this dream consists of me searching for a medical officer just so I can ask this simple questions. And, I’m pretty sure its possible to bring her back to life, I just don’t know how to do it.

So, I start calling around to other ships trying to get ahold of their medical officers. I am unable to reach anyone because there is nothing but static on the communications display. So, I guess I have to wait until I get back to some kind of civilization.

But not all is lost as something by the front door catches my eye. Through the door’s circle window, I see some lights and shadows. I look out the window to see what appears to be a festival or carnival. I open the door to see wood steps leading down to some grass.

I step out of the ‘spaceship’ and into the field. Its night time and the smell of funnel cakes and food is in the air. There are bright lights, music, and its very crowded.

Over by the roller coaster, I see Kevin kicking a soccer ball and showing off to this Asian chick. I go over there to kick the ball around for a bit. Through some weird sixth sense, I feel I must walk towards one of the crowds of people. I start walking over, and, unknown to me, the Asian girl starts following me.

Now, I don’t ‘see’ what happens next, but the Asian girl throws some kind of blade into the crowd and hits someone in the back of the neck killing them. I finally get to the crowd and see this guy laying face down in the grass. I turn him over to find that he is another medical officer! WTF! Someone is trying really hard to keep me from talking to medical officers.

I do realize as I write this, I could have used the miracle drug on this guy, but for whatever reason that didn’t cross my mind at the time.

Anyway, I examine the blade a bit and it looks really cool. Its shaped like a steel butterfly. I hear some commotion over to my right. I look over to see a crowd gathering. There appears to be some kind of event happening…

Its a roast pig contest! A bunch of chefs have been collected and placed in this big Hollywood Squares-like stage contraption. The pigs haven’t been roasted yet. Its just the chefs showing off their pig beforehand. Over to the corner, there are some guards protecting a ‘flash cooker’ that can roast a whole pig in 5 seconds.

Anyway, the variety of pigs there was just ridiculous. Some weren’t even prepped for cooking. Some were just dead pigs in costumes. For example, there was a Hawaiian shirt pig. Its shirt matched the chefs standing around it. Pretty much every kind of costume was there in pig form. There was even a Donald Duck pig.

Now for the best part. There were Japanese chefs in one of the squares wearing lab coats and sushi chef attire. They had a Sushi Pig! Now, this wasn’t even a real pig. It was just a bunch of rice formed into the shape of a full size pig with nori wrapped around its belly.

I notice the steel butterfly is still in my hand and start thinking about how its made. The dream starts to end with me standing in a machine shop. I’m explaining to someone how all the different machine tools work and how the different compositions of metals affect the colors of the sparks and chips that fly out when you machine steel. Then, I realize that I’m barefoot because I’m stepping on steel chips….I wake up shortly afterwards thinking about how I can’t believe they had a Sushi Pig.
