I feel like sharing my dreams.

After talking with some people and looking around the internet, it seems that there are a lot of very common dreams that people have. On the other hand, there are some really crazy dreams that are unique to the individual. If my dream is really cool, I usually remember a good bit of it and can recognize things that I’ve recently seen or experienced that probably influenced it in some way even if its in a way that I don’t understand.

I think there was an article on slashdot that said some dreams my be a kind of ‘virtual reality’ for your brain to test your reactions to extreme situations. I’ve notice that I tend to fight, rebel, or attack an opposing force like zombies, laser robots, or laser robot zombies etc.. Some people say they run.

Whatever the case may be or however crazy my dreams may sound, I never think too deeply about them. You, however, can think deeply about my dreams and interpret them in any way you’d like if you want.

Last Night, The 1920’s, Sea Lions, Guns, and Trains…

Text

Simply, another weird dream. Leela came back for in this one.

Anyway, this is what happened. It all begins on a warm moonlit night with a few clouds in the sky. There are two guys standing outside of the front door. One guy is short and scrawny with a goatee, slick back hair, and wearing a lot of gold. He was also wearing a suit and carrying a briefcase. He’s the salesman.

The guy standing next to him was taller and bigger. He wasn’t wearing a suit though. He was the bodyguard. In whatever dreamworld I was in, it was very dangerous, and you either needed to be combat ready or have a bodyguard with you at all times.

Anyway, I’m inside the house. Outside, the salesman is bragging to his bodyguard about how he is going to make a sale and sucker some more people into buying whatever garbage he is selling. I look to my left and there is some random dude in the house looking through the side window at the salesman. He expresses his hatred for crooked door to door salespeople and gets extremely pissed off. By the way, this guy in the house seems to be on edge like he’s about to snap and go psycho. He reminded me of one of those crazy guys from the card game scene in Training Day.

Out of nowhere, he tosses me a shotgun and he pulls out two chrome plated .45’s and says that he wants to take care of these guys. Before I can have a say in the matter, the salesman rings the doorbell.

Immediately, the crazy guy opens the door and grabs the skinny guy by the collar and jerks him into the house. I have the shotgun pointed at the bodyguard so he can’t do anything. I tell him to step inside while the crazy guy takes the salesman upstairs…

After a few moments, I figure the bodyguard doesn’t have to die. He was just doing his job and got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. I walk him to the sliding glass door in the back and tell him that he is free to go and to forget he was ever here.

The crazy guy comes down and asks where the bodyguard was. “He got away.” I said. The crazy guy told me to go after him. So, I did. I run out of the house and across some grassy moonlit fields. I end up running into the city where no one is around. Eventually, I catch up to the guy in the middle of desolate intersection. I knock the guy down and point the gun at him.

“Now what?” I think to myself. I let the guy up and basically told him never mind. I turned and ran back towards the house. I don’t know why I had to chase the guy down if I had no intention of shooting him. Oh well. I shoot a few rounds off into the air to make it seem like I shot at the bodyguard.

When I get back to the house, there are about 5 other people I don’t know. They are very disturbed and say that the guy has gone crazy. They are afraid of what he is going to do next and say he has done something horrible. I never find out what the guy did, but I imagine it was pretty horrible based on what happens in the next few moments.

“This guy needs to be stopped..” I thought. I look at the shotgun and notice that there is only one shell left. To make matters worse, the shell is jammed, and I can’t get it out. I start to panic because I think the guy knows I’m after him now, and I don’t have a gun. I need a weapon.

I look over to the glass coffee table. The decorative iron ornaments that are hanging from it are sharp and look like they could be used as knives. One of the cooler ‘ornaments’ looks like the symbol for the New Orleans Saints. I give that one to the guy in a white suit. I pull a series of knives and blades off the coffee table and pass them out to the others. I grab a pair of blades for myself.

Before I can explain to the group what we are going to do, one of the girls goes upstairs after the guy. No one follows her. No one does anything except look to the top of the stairs. We hear a scuffle, gunshots, and then a scream. The girl comes walking back slowly. She stops at the top of the stairs. Its dark up there, and the light casts a shadow over her face.

Slowly, she starts to walk down the stairs blindly as if she can’t see….

Her eyes are gone. The crazy guy had cut her eyes out.

We’re all looking at her not knowing what to do next. Her hand is on the rail guiding her down the stairs. Halfway down the stairs, her hand brushes up against an envelope. She tosses the letter over the side and down to the guy in the white suit.

She asks him to read it aloud.

The letter is from her family. It says they will be in town next week. The other girl in the room appears to be the blind girl’s sister. The blind girl shouts at her, “You lied to me! You said they weren’t coming, and now I can’t see them!” She suddenly throws herself through the handrail and dives onto her sister.

Crashing, they fall into a swimming pool. The girl with no eyes has her hands around her sister’s throat as she tries to drown her. The sister remembers she has a knife in her hand. She stabs her blind sibling in the side until she lets go. There is blood in the water. The blind girl is dead. The other girl doesn’t appear in the dream anymore, and I don’t know what happened to her. We are down two people now, and the crazy guy is still on the loose.

Angrily, we all mob up the stairs. The stairs transform into a stairwell, and we keep going up and up. We’re going to the top of a skyscraper now. The guy is on the roof, and he is expecting us.

Everyone is getting tired as I continue to run up the stairs. I get to the roof alone. Its snowing outside now, and the guy isn’t there.

Leela appears and says he leapt off the roof. We look over the edge and don’t see anything but snowfall and darkness. Dream logic dictates that we must do the same. We take a few steps back and then run towards the edge. ..

We leap off the building as hard as we can. Now, we’re falling away from the building. The ocean is below us as we continue to fall. It seems like we start slowing down and begin to glide a little bit.

Suddenly, whimsical music begins to play as the sound of waves crashing picks up. Train tracks begin to sprout from the water in a straight line off into the horizon. However, the tracks right below us are still under water. Up ahead, steam bursts out in front of us as a locomotive breaks the surface of the water. Its one of your good ol’ fashioned steam locomotives. Its pulling a combination of old school passenger cars as well as modern roller coaster cars. The words “Drop Chain Express” are painted on the side of the locomotive.

We land on top of one of the passenger cars. Leela points to the horizon directly in front of the train and shouts over the wind and train noise, “He went this way!”

We ride the train through the night and into the day. The sun is out high in the sky now. The ocean is blue, and the skies are clear. In the daylight, I can see that the train tracks are hanging from chains. The chains reach high into the sky. If I look way up, I can see the chains supporting the tracks are hanging from two huge orange Golden Gate Bridge cables.  We’re on a giant suspension bridge. “Drop Chain Express” makes sense now.

Randomly, like a fish, a tiny cruise liner jumps out of the water into my arms while an octopus jumps into Leela’s arms. While I’m holding onto my cruise liner and Leela holds onto her octopus, and the train starts to dive into the ocean. I start to freak out because I don’t want to start floating and have the train get away from us stranding us in the middle of the Atlantic. I get really freaked out when the water gets up to my neck, but, thankfully, the train rises back up above the water. I’m still holding onto the ocean liner and the octopus is still in her arms.

So here is the weird part. Before the train dipped below the water, the people in the roller coaster cars were just your average modern touristy looking people. After the train dipped below the surface and came back up, the people in the cars were all replaced with sea lions. Sea lions wearing people clothes! They were all wearing 1920’s suits or dresses. Some of the lady sea lions, those wearing dresses, were holding flowers. Very weird…Anyway, I wake up shortly afterwards.

Last Night, Sushi Pig…

Text

Man, this dream is pretty crazy. I’m not really sure how to begin because the word ‘sushi-pig’ keeps swirling around in my head. I guess it will make sense.

Anyway, this is what happened. It all starts with me asleep in the corner of a room on a spaceship. And its not a very big spaceship. Something like the size of Serenity but more of a Space: Above and Beyond dropship.

In the room next to mine, there is a medical officer, which happens to be Turanga Leela, sitting down at a control console playing some kind of holographic puzzle game. The object of this game is to get a marble to fall to the bottom of a cylinder that has a series of puzzle chambers inside of it.

The last puzzle chamber involved the marble falling into a pool of acid. I’m not sure if the acid pool gets really big or if Leela gets really small, but she goes after the marble and dives in head first where she dissolves peacefully into nothingness.

Suddenly, emergency alarms go off and wake me up. I look around to find no one else on the ship. I check the logs to see a video of Leela jumping into the acid. At this point I’m not panicking but more so inconvenienced. After all, I’m on a spaceship. This is the future, and we have this really cool miracle drug.

Apparently, this wonder drug, which comes in a little eye drop bottle, is all you need to bring people back to life. One drop is all that is needed, and it even works when someone gets blown to bits. All you do is just put a drop on a remaining finger or whatever and the person will grow back like the girl in the Fifth Element. But, I’ve run into a slight dilemma…

Since Leela was dissolved completely by the acid, I don’t have any usable physical remains to bring her back to life. At this point, I’m unsure of what to do next since the instructions on the bottle don’t say what to do in this situation, and I’m not a doctor. The next logical thing to do would be to consult the medical officer….Yeah, see how that kinda sucks?

Let me take a moment to mention that the rest of this dream consists of me searching for a medical officer just so I can ask this simple questions. And, I’m pretty sure its possible to bring her back to life, I just don’t know how to do it.

So, I start calling around to other ships trying to get ahold of their medical officers. I am unable to reach anyone because there is nothing but static on the communications display. So, I guess I have to wait until I get back to some kind of civilization.

But not all is lost as something by the front door catches my eye. Through the door’s circle window, I see some lights and shadows. I look out the window to see what appears to be a festival or carnival. I open the door to see wood steps leading down to some grass.

I step out of the ‘spaceship’ and into the field. Its night time and the smell of funnel cakes and food is in the air. There are bright lights, music, and its very crowded.

Over by the roller coaster, I see Kevin kicking a soccer ball and showing off to this Asian chick. I go over there to kick the ball around for a bit. Through some weird sixth sense, I feel I must walk towards one of the crowds of people. I start walking over, and, unknown to me, the Asian girl starts following me.

Now, I don’t ‘see’ what happens next, but the Asian girl throws some kind of blade into the crowd and hits someone in the back of the neck killing them. I finally get to the crowd and see this guy laying face down in the grass. I turn him over to find that he is another medical officer! WTF! Someone is trying really hard to keep me from talking to medical officers.

I do realize as I write this, I could have used the miracle drug on this guy, but for whatever reason that didn’t cross my mind at the time.

Anyway, I examine the blade a bit and it looks really cool. Its shaped like a steel butterfly. I hear some commotion over to my right. I look over to see a crowd gathering. There appears to be some kind of event happening…

Its a roast pig contest! A bunch of chefs have been collected and placed in this big Hollywood Squares-like stage contraption. The pigs haven’t been roasted yet. Its just the chefs showing off their pig beforehand. Over to the corner, there are some guards protecting a ‘flash cooker’ that can roast a whole pig in 5 seconds.

Anyway, the variety of pigs there was just ridiculous. Some weren’t even prepped for cooking. Some were just dead pigs in costumes. For example, there was a Hawaiian shirt pig. Its shirt matched the chefs standing around it. Pretty much every kind of costume was there in pig form. There was even a Donald Duck pig.

Now for the best part. There were Japanese chefs in one of the squares wearing lab coats and sushi chef attire. They had a Sushi Pig! Now, this wasn’t even a real pig. It was just a bunch of rice formed into the shape of a full size pig with nori wrapped around its belly.

I notice the steel butterfly is still in my hand and start thinking about how its made. The dream starts to end with me standing in a machine shop. I’m explaining to someone how all the different machine tools work and how the different compositions of metals affect the colors of the sparks and chips that fly out when you machine steel. Then, I realize that I’m barefoot because I’m stepping on steel chips….I wake up shortly afterwards thinking about how I can’t believe they had a Sushi Pig.

Last Night, Balloons Attacked Us…

Text

Ok, my memories of this dream are becoming a little fuzzy since I’ve been spending all morning trying to figure out how to get the my tumblr’s appearance to look better. Now, I’m going to scribble down as much as I remember asap…

I would also like to note that I was kind of ‘conscious’ in the dream. Like things were happening beyond my control, but I could sit there and think about what’s going on even though I kind of went with the flow of events. I dunno if that makes sense.

Anyway, this is what happened. For whatever reason, my dream takes place at my house in Japan from when I used to live there. It wasn’t really a house, but more of a military housing unit similar to a two story town home.

My friends and I were having some kind of get together. Nothing special, just hangin out like we normally do. I don’t remember exactly who was there anymore.

Something had been wrong with the sky over the past few days. There was some kind of weird ominous yellow hue in the afternoon sky that day. Anyway, by now it was night time, and I felt really uncomfortable for some reason. Suddenly, someone screamed, “THEY’RE BACK!” and pointed up towards the the corner of the room. Everyone started panicking and screaming in chaos. I look up and see balloons floating up on the ceiling just like any normal helium filled balloon. So I was kind of confused as they looked rather harmless.

The balloons were ‘seeping’ into the room from the seams where the walls meet the ceiling. I guess by ‘seeping’ you could say inflating, but they were kind of being stretched into the room already blown up. These were you typical party balloons too. Red was there…so was yellow, purple, green..Umm..I don’t think there were any blue balloons. Like I said, they were floating up at the ceiling, but suddenly, they slowly started to descend towards people in a balloon-like manner as if a gentle downward wind asked them kindly to change direction.

Everyone ran out of the room and out the front door. I don’t know where everyone else went, but there were about 5 of us standing outside in the front yard now. A popped balloon carcass was spotted on the lawn. Some informed lad says, “Don’t touch it!” While another knowledgeable chap says, “And look out for spiders too!”

I concluded that the balloons must poisonous to the touch resulting in instant death and somehow they are mutant arachnid balloons or spiders have something to do with it. It made sense in the dream..So I dunno..

Anyway, it was dark, foggy, and a little cold outside. Then, some random girl said she needs to get her dog that she left inside. We open the front door and call for her dog and her dog comes. For whatever reason I don’t understand, about 6 random people start asking to get their pets. So, we stand by the front door and call for all their pets until everyone is happy. One person even had a bird!? Yoda, Naomi’s dog, was there too. He made it out safely.

Then, all the animals go away to wherever things go when dreams take stuff away from the scene. We begin walking away from the house. Suddenly, there is a loud “BANG!” as the front door slams open and everyone gets scared…but it was only my dog. I haven’t seen him since he died, but he shows up now for some reason. I’m thinking I should close the door to keep the balloons in the house, but then somehow the door magically closes behind him.

Moving on, we get to the parking lot and we see someone peeking through the blinds in their house across the lot. It was Arie. We call her cell and she is just chillin and really has no concern for the apparent danger.

Leaving it at that, we run down the street with some kind of frantic urgency calling people we know to warn them that the balloons are back. And, for what its worth, we do have flashlights. Flashlights in the fog are cool.

Apparently, this isn’t the first poison-murder-balloon-apocalypse that has devastated humanity. We run to the back of what I assumed was a Ryan’s. I remember calling Kevin and getting his voicemail. I’m thinking that this dream is getting retarded and yes I realized this while in the dream. The city seems abandoned, everyone is unreachable, and the only balloons I saw were in the house. Whatever, it doesn’t have to make sense.

I call Lexi’s phone and get her voicemail. We start exploring tunnels similar to the corridors in the interrogation room level in N64’s Goldeneye but a little more sewer-like. Lets just say we were in sewers with green and white walls. I call Lexi again and get her voicemail. Then, Lexi just pops up around the corner and tells me that she saw us coming and didn’t pickup her phone because she wanted to pop out to try and scare us. She is completely oblivious to the ‘danger’ that is looming upon us all. I eventually wake up after I determine that this dream is leading nowhere.

Last Night, We Defended Against Zombies…

Text

I remember this cool dream I had about zombies after playing countless hours of Left 4 Dead. I found an email I wrote to a friend that described what happened.

Normally, zombie encounters involve running away from the undead until you find some kind of fortified building or structure like The Winchester or your Mom’s house. The odd thing was that we weren’t necessarily running from zombies that were coming from all directions…

Anyway, this is what happened. The moon is out, and I find myself, along with some other random people, barricaded behind some burning cars in an elementary school parking lot right outside the main entrance. We were trying to fend off zombies as they kept pouring out the front door. These were fast zombies too like 28 Days Later infected. They weren’t coming from anywhere else except the front door so I guess everything was cool. I mean we were doing ok for a bit by just shooting them at the door as they ran out. But then, they started coming from both sides of the building like they found another way out.

Naturally, I picked up a conveniently placed container of gasoline and ran to one side of the building. I poured it all over a pile of stuff that was over there and set a fire to keep them from coming from that side. Alas, that only slowed them down and only for a moment. They swarmed in bigger numbers from the front and the other side of the building. It was all furiously overwhelming. We all died. :(

The same scenario kept going on repeatedly like a video game. Realizing that I had a bunch of lives or something, I tried doing different things every time but kept getting killed. Eventually, I figured it out.

First, I had to run to one side of the building. Then, start pouring gas all over the ground and run to the other side while still pouring. I had to save some of the gas because the key was to throw the remaining gas, in its can, into the doorway and then light the fire….

There was an explosion…

The whole building didn’t blow up or anything. It was more of a large fireball. A few burning zombies straggled out. We shot those and that was about it. After the fire burned down, we searched the school to find maggots all over the ground. There was some kind of correlation with the maggots and the zombies, but this all goes unresolved as I wake up wondering what maggots have to do with zombies.

Dream Triggers:

  • I had been playing a lot of Left 4 Dead.
  • Left 4 Dead has cans of gasoline conveniently strewn about the game.
